Civic Trust Awards Regional Finalist 2019

As part of 6a architects’ extension to Milton Keynes Art Gallery, City Club is an artist-led project comprising public spaces and playscape. Led by the artists Gareth Jones and Nils Norman, the project harks back to the social and architectural visions from the early days of Milton Keynes, featuring often exuberant and colourful designs. JCLA provided the technical landscape design for features including a conical play mound, a walking frame and an amphitheatre, the siting of sculptures and themeatic signposts, within a ‘1970s’ planting design, opened in 2019.
